What You'll Do

As a Manager – BCG Vantage in a Topic Activation role within the Travel, Transport Infrastructure & Leisure (TTL) sector of BCG’s Travel, Cities and Infrastructure Practice Area (TCI), you will be part of a growing global team, providing rail industry expertise and insights. You’ll collaborate closely with case and proposal teams to deliver analysis, expert advisory, and thought leadership that helps structure and solve complex client challenges.In parallel, you will support the development and evolution of the firm’s rail-related intellectual property—both existing and new—with guidance from senior colleagues. You’ll also drive commercialization initiatives, including contributions to marketing campaigns, conference participation, and publications, in partnership with business leaders.In this role, you'll also be expected to mentor and guide junior colleagues, and may line manage a team, taking responsibility for their goal setting, ongoing feedback, and career development.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • Navigating the rail sector thanks to your deep expertise
  • Solving global Rail client problems by bringing your expert opinion and/or employing analytical approaches
  • Driving the codification and the creation of knowledge, tools, views in Rail that can serve all our different client context
  • Communicating with senior stakeholders including BCG clients, in a credible and confident way
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual, proficient in agile ways of working
  • Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
  • Coaching and guiding colleagues and consulting teams on your domain of expertise

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years consulting experience with focus on rail or ground transportation related projects required
  • In lieu of consulting experience, 4+ years minimum industry experience required; 6-10+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred), with demonstrated high academic achievement in Transportation Engineering & Planning, Transportation Funding & Finance, Transportation Management & Operations, Freight & Logistics, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, Business Administration, or other relevant fields
  • Fluency in English (must-have) and; other languages like German, French, Italian or Spanish skills are welcome
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment
