Project Manager - Patient Experience - Full Time 8 Hour Rotating Shifts (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Project Manager provides a wide range of project management and operational support including in the assistance in the administration and coordination of a variety of project management functions including planning, budgeting, organizing, research and delivery of services.

This position organizes and coordinates data analysis for various patient satisfaction projects, pilot programs, and best practice implementation. The incumbent will display recognized leadership and sound organizational and analytical skills and will actively assist the Associate Administrator and Manager of Patient Experience in completing projects according to respective deadlines and expectations. The Project Manager will be responsible for deliverables and objectives with the Friends of Keck and USC Alumni Program. Must have the ability to identify, manage and mitigate projects and issues, ensuring that projects are on time, on, budget and meeting the quality requirements.

Essential Duties:

  • 1. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety standards, CDPH standards with Title 18 and Title 22 standards knowledge.
  • 2. Assists in developing and monitoring project budgets and other project specific deadlines.
  • 3. Collects statistical data for administrative purposes, prepares patient experience reports for presentation to hospital leadership and medical staff members.
  • 4. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • 5. Develops management objectives and policies for the various departments and monitors results. Interprets objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • 6. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • 7. Coordinates the activities of the assigned departments with other departments both within and outside the hospital; Resolves problems with department heads concerning use of resources; Encourages and maintains open lines of communication with all project stakeholders.
  • 8. Evaluates the performance of the various departments as well as the performance of key managers and supervisors and provides feedback to the Senior Leadership.
  • 9. Assists Administration with special projects and with short and long-term strategic planning.
  • 10. Attends promptly to the administrative details of the position including preparation of reports, completion of performance appraisals, and other employee-related actions.
  • 11. Ensures that all operations within the scope or the position are carried out in an ethical, responsible manner.
  • 12. Develops, with the help of the responsible department heads, standard operating procedures for the departments within the position’s span of control. Coordinates with other departments and medical staff as needed.
  • 13. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
  • 14. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • 15. Will provide Patient Advocate Support for 15% time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req High school or equivalent
  • Req Bachelor's degree In a related field.
  • Combined experience/education may substitute for Bachelor's Degree.
  • Req 2 years Experience in hospital/healthcare environment with project management and/or major impact project development responsibilities.
  • Req Demonstrated experience in organizing and defining tasks, setting priorities, working independently, and following through with minimal direction in order to perform effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions, fluctuating workloads, and conflicting time demands.
  • Req Proficiency with data analysis and related software.
  • Req Demonstrated interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Req Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, managers, staff, and general public.
  • Req Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material with discretion.
  • Req Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of constituents to include: patient and family, staff, faculty, alumni, business, political and community leaders and the general public is essential.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
