Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the equipment setup and upkeep of saws and associated machinery, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality output. This role is crucial to our manufacturing process and offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain saws and associated equipment.
• Operate and troubleshoot dust collection and stacking stations.
• Perform quality inspections on products.
• Load and unload materials into machines.
• Prepare products for shipment.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of machine operation experience.
• Forklift experience, preferably with sit-down forklifts.
• Strong measurement skills, including proficiency with tape measures.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working directly with saws or gang saws.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot cross-cut and gang saws.
• Skill in taking critical measurements and using mold release.
• Ensuring quality control regarding thickness, squareness, width, and length of products.

Work Environment

This position requires working the 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am, Monday through Friday, with additional hours on Saturdays as needed. Candidates will work up to 72 hours a week in a dusty environment with minor fiberglass exposure, for which protection is provided. The role involves navigating conveyor systems safely to reach various saw locations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
