Job Title: Skip Loader Operator

Job Description

A Skip Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a skip loader to move concrete & asphalt materials. They also perform tasks such as cleaning the work area, communicating with team members, and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.

Responsibilities

  • Operating the Skip Loader: This includes driving the machine, raising and lowering the bucket, and controlling attachments.
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Moving materials like dirt, gravel, rock, and debris.
  • Site Cleanup: Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Communication: Communicating with team members, including truck drivers and supervisors, to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing daily safety checks, reporting any issues, and assisting with equipment maintenance.
  • Following Instructions: Following the instructions of foremen, superintendents, and other supervisors.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • General Labor: May be required to perform other general laborer duties, such as using hand tools.

Essential Skills

  • Must have experience with operating skip loaders within concrete or asphalt construction.

Work Environment

Based in Nipomo, CA. Will be performing work throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
