Job Title: Rigger

Job Description

As a Rigger, you will be responsible for setting up and repairing rigging for the movement of heavy equipment. This role requires you to prepare materials before loading, set up rigging equipment, operate heavy machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job. You will also need to communicate effectively with the rigging team and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
  • Set, align, and level heavy equipment using appropriate rigging gear.
  • Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  • Inspect rigging before final use.
  • Monitor and maintain rigging equipment.
  • Maneuver loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
  • Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures.
  • Communicate with the rigging and construction team.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety.
  • Break down rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspections.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 120 lbs.
  • Experience in production, heavy lifting, and general labor.
  • Forklift operation skills.
  • Rigger experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and construction.
  • Experience around cranes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in rigging or construction.
  • 1-2 years of experience working around cranes.
  • Experience with boom lifts or scissor lifts is preferred.
  • NCCER or CCO certification is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Work at our facility located in Virginia, operating Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Be prepared to work overtime as required to complete jobs. The role involves a lot of physical labor, so comfort with heavy lifting and extended hours is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
