Reach Truck Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Reach Truck Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to adhere to safety and operational guidelines while ensuring that the right materials are delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a reach truck to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials.
• Ensure accurate storage of materials, track inventory levels, and perform routine stock checks.
• Accurately pick and deliver products as per order requests.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Perform pre-operation inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, and complete all required paperwork promptly.
• Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
• Assist in other warehouse duties as required, including packing, labeling, and general housekeeping.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience as a Reach Truck Operator or in a similar role in a warehouse setting.
• Valid reach truck operating license/certification.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math and reading skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with RF scanners and barcode technology.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a warehouse environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very large, fast-paced warehouse over 220,000 square feet with more than 25 bay doors, housing a variety of electrical parts. The warehouse is clean and well-organized, with sections such as racks and a wire room. Employees are expected to maintain cleanliness and organization in their workspaces. This role specifically involves working in the large pick segment, which features floor-to-ceiling racks and a wire guidance system. The shift runs from Monday to Friday, starting at 2:30 pm and concluding when the work is finished.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
