Position Summary: Leads and implements the casino’s information management strategy and aligns the IT Department's operational activities to support the business objectives of the organization

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops and manages application portfolios and attains all IT services for the user community within the organization
  • Proactively researches and recommends system and application software to support or improve operational service initiatives
  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs all operational activities of the IT Department and provides direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations
  • Formulates and deploys long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies
  • Proactively researches and recommends system and application software to support or improve operational service initiatives
  • Manages IT Department’s operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, budgeting, project planning and organizing the allocation of resources
  • Responsible for all computer hardware, communications equipment and software used in the conduct of the slot machine licensee's operations
  • Responsible for the computerized slot monitoring system utilized by the slot machine licensee to make sure that the slot machines located on the gaming floor are connected electronically to the slot machine licensee's computerized slot monitoring system and to the State of New York central control computer
  • Ensures that the procedures and controls that are in place that define and limit interaction between both the slot operations department and finance department and the computerized slot monitoring system including access to system menus, the establishment of slot machine profile parameters, and the ability of each department to access, delete, create or modify information contained in the slot monitoring system
  • Authorizes and oversees the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on department needs
  • Oversees provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services
  • Responsible for access codes and other security controls used to insure limited access to computer software and the system wide reliability of data
  • Responsible for all computer tapes, disks or other electronic storage media containing data relevant to the slot machine licensee's operations
  • Develops and implements all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and Ensures compliance with regulatory
  • controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal laws and the New York State Gaming Commission regulations
  • The security features of the computerized slot monitoring system which includes the deletion, creation or modification of any data unless a permanent record is created that sets forth the original information, modifications to the original information, the identity of the employee making the modification and the identity of each employee authorizing the modification
  • Ensures that the computerized jackpot payout systems utilized by the licensee are configured to require that any modification of $100 or more to the original amount recorded on a computerized jackpot payout or system override is authorized by two finance department employees, one of which is in a position of greater authority than the individual preparing the jackpot payout
  • Hires, trains and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental standards, policies and programs
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent
  • Ten or more years related experience
  • Knowledge of computer systems prevalent in the casino industry; MS Project Management software; MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Able to interact with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor
  • Exposure to high noise level
