At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. If you'd like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history.
Amazon Global Procurement Organization is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager to plan and execute on our vision of a digitally integrated and automated Indirect Supply Chain. This role will take responsibility for orchestrating communication, leading stakeholders and engineering teams through project inception, discovery and planning, driving cross-org alignment, scheduling projects, removing roadblocks, executing and delivering projects, working directly with engineering to deliver on roadmap objectives, and matching the needs of customers and stakeholders with the solutions and resources needed to deliver business value.
Given the breadth of the platforms we develop and integrate, this role will require coordination across internal and external Amazon teams as well as third party vendors. You’ll work with customers, partners, and business stakeholders to align prioritized features with engineering solutions that deliver the most value and customer satisfaction. You will partner with Product Management and Engineering to define new capabilities and solutions through expertly crafted narratives, business requirements and technology specifications, while driving clarity for business partners and engineers alike.
The successful Sr. Technical Program Manager candidate will have progressive career experience in Project Management and Program Management roles, operating in both traditional program management (PMBOK) environments and Agile (Scrum/SAFe) environments. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years experience managing multi-phase software development programs, and demonstrate the ability to engage with technical teams on software technology topics with a high degree of familiarity.
Successful applicants will have experience developing functional and non-functional requirements, writing high-level technical designs, systems integration plans, and technical specifications, facilitating business and technical meetings, partnering with resources outside of the team to get things done, scheduling and pivoting project plans, communicating status, resolving risks, removing barriers, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to a large number of stakeholders.
Candidates must demonstrate experience managing complex programs and interrelated projects across multiple engineering and stakeholder groups. This role will be expected to communicate effectively to all levels within the company, both in writing and in meetings.
The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, including an understanding of systems design using AWS cloud components, able to actively participate in architecture and design discussions, able to independently resolve integration challenges with external teams, and review ERD, state diagrams and cloud infrastructure diagrams. The candidate will have experience managing complex programs and interrelated projects across multiple engineering and stakeholder groups.
The candidate should thrive in a fast paced environment, deals well with ambiguity, develops and builds clarity, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to dig into any project or problem. The candidate will exercise high standards for themselves and everyone they work with, and constantly looking around corners to prevent short sighted solutions and decisions. We are looking for proven ability to work closely with the engineering team, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that rely on the candidate's ability to generate clarity, solutions and a path to successful outcomes.
