- Correctly transports, receives, accessions, processes, and assures proper identification of specimen
- Evaluates specimen integrity and notifies appropriate personnel of unacceptable specimens in accordance with departmental procedure

Quality Commitment and Enhancement
- Performs laboratory internal regulatory (CAP/CLIA) audits with sections and reports finding to laboratory management
- Assists in the management of laboratory regulatory documentation (i.e. competency, instrument logs, job aides, etc) for compliance
- Complies with section's telephone/customer service courtesy policies and procedures
- Reports results of problem resolutions to callers in accordance with section's policies
- Demonstrates cooperation when working with both internal and external customers
- Demonstrates calmness under varying environmental circumstances; remains willing and capable of assisting with crisis situations
- Effectively follows up with vendors to resolve pending laboratory supply/equipment orders

High school diploma or equivalent and current enrollment in the Clinical Laboratory Science or Molecular Genetic Technology program within the School of Health Professions at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
