Job Title: Quality Systems Manager

Job Description

The Quality Systems Manager is pivotal in the design, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, SQF, and GFSI. This role ensures compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies, managing both internal and external audits and inspections. You will oversee quality control processes from raw materials to finished goods, investigate consumer complaints, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions. Additionally, the role involves developing and monitoring KPIs related to food safety and quality performance, training and mentoring QA staff and production teams, maintaining documentation systems for traceability, and collaborating cross-functionally to support new product introductions and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain food safety and quality systems.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage internal and external audits, including customer and third-party inspections.
  • Oversee quality control processes for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
  • Investigate consumer complaints and non-conformances.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to food safety and quality performance.
  • Train and mentor QA staff and production teams on quality standards and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation systems and ensure traceability and record-keeping compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product introductions and process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in quality assurance and GCP.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FSMA, SQF programs.
  • Proficiency in HACCP, GMP, SQF, and GFSI systems.
  • Experience with FDA, USDA compliance.
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections.
  • Experience in consumer complaint investigation and corrective action implementation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Chemical Safety Training attended within the past 12 months.
  • GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training.
  • Meeting SQF Program requirements.
  • Meeting FSMA Preventive Controls program requirements, including PCQI training.
  • Compliance with GMP and Safety Rules and Policies.

Work Environment

The work environment requires compliance with all GMP requirements and adherence to safety rules and policies. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as defined by plant procedures. The role involves collaboration across various departments, including R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain, to facilitate process improvements and new product introductions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
