The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, and managing of activities to bring about the successful completion of engineering project goals and objectives, working within an agile matrixed environment to ensure quality, scope, time, and budget commitments are met. The Project Manager facilitates and partners with Development, Product Management, and other IT teams to achieve stated project goals, spanning both fixed scoped projects across internal and external teams, and the release management process of product deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with development teams and partners, creates and maintains project plans, milestones, and schedules, including deliverables across all impacted areas of assigned projects. Provides oversight and leadership during project execution to ensure alignment with project deadlines.
  • Facilitates the definition, management, and negotiation of project scope and scope change controls between the project team and key business stakeholders for traditional SDLC projects.
  • Tracks and resolves project issues/impediments and team conflicts. Facilitates escalation of issues not resolvable by the project team to the appropriate business or IT sponsor and track to successful completion.
  • Tracks and reports project progress to stakeholders. Prepares status reports and facilitates project meetings.
  • Manages project resource budget and address discrepancies between baseline and actual time reporting and expenses.
  • Identify risks in conjunction with the project team and stakeholders. Works with the project team and stakeholders (based on the risk) to define mitigation plans and ensure plans are tracked and status of the risks are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Provides oversight of the software ideation process, ensures responsibilities are met by role, required assets are created, and go/no go decisions are made to move software initiatives from concept to execution to delivery.
  • Owns and drives the software release process, provides release management and communication to stakeholders and clients, satisfying standards and SLAs related to the delivery of software and infrastructure updates in production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience and/or training
  • 1+ years of experience managing software projects in an Agile environment
  • Technical and business acumen, proven ability to effectively understand and communicate technical project requirements.
  • Experience establishing project management best practices and processes in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated business is a plus.
