Job Summary
The CRESA Operational Risk and Compliance Manager manages and reports operational risk events within CRESA and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This role collaborates with Unit Operational Risk Managers (UORMs) to implement operational risk policies, standards, and programs. Responsibilities include identifying, assessing, mitigating, and reporting on operational risks, analyzing loss trends and control effectiveness, escalating significant events, and ensuring business continuity within corporate real estate. This role will interface with Compliance, Audit, and Operational Risk units.
Responsibilities
- Managing and reporting operational risk events within CRESA.
- Collaborating with UORMs to implement operational risk policies, standards, and programs.
- Identifying and assessing potential operational risks, including conducting thorough risk assessments.
- Analyzing operational processes to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for risk mitigation.
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Working with legal and compliance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Monitoring changes in regulations and industry best practices.
- Preparing and maintaining compliance documentation for properties and managing audits and inspections.
- Developing and maintaining business continuity and emergency response plans.
- Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key operational risk metrics (incidents, near misses, compliance breaches).
- Preparing regular risk reports for senior management, including recommendations for improvement.
- Developing and delivering training programs on operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Escalating operational risk events per established procedures.
- Implementing action plans to address control failures and monitoring their status.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of CRESA's operational risk framework.
- Staying current on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to operational risk management.
- Conducting regular Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 8-10 years experience in operational risk management, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of operational risk concepts and principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
