SVP, Team Head, Data & AI - (WD74627)
Lead the bank’s Data Platform team. Build and lead a strong software development team to develop and own parts of the bank’s data / machine learning / analytics platform. Collaborate closely with the teams in Singapore, India and China in defining the target architecture and roadmap for the platform. Drive efforts to continuously improve the quality, stability, scalability and performance of the platform.
Job Duties & responsibilities
- Build and improve the bank’s data, analytics and machine learning platform
- Apply cutting edge technologies and tool chain in big data and machine learning to build and improve the bank’s data, analytics and machine learning platform
- Keep innovating and optimizing the workflows across data ingestion, compute, visualisation, exploration, security, metadata management, model experimentation/prototyping to production.
- Provide engineering solutions and frameworks to support machine learning and data-driven business activities at large scale.
- Perform R&D on new technologies and solutions to improve accessibility, scalability, efficiency of the data, machine learning and analytics platform.
- Establish, apply and maintain best practices and principles of platform, data and machine learning engineering
- Study and evaluate the state of the art technologies, tools, and frameworks of platform, data and machine learning engineering.
- Contribute to creation of blueprint and reference architecture for various data and machine learning use cases.
- Support the organization in transformation towards a data driven business culture.
- Provide expert solutions in field of Big Data and cloud (AWS,GCP)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Design and build applications using Java and related technology.
- Implement core practices of Agile, leveraging cloud native architecture pattern using Test Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration/continuous delivery, in an on-premise or public-cloud environment, where everything is automated
- Ensure good quality and performance of product features
- Automate everything to remove the toil.
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Collaborative work with remote teams.
- Work with vendor team leaders to manage project timeline, quality and address technical issues etc.
- Work with local DTC team to improve our Tech branding and service quality continuously in China
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of proven software development experience with big data full stack engineering
- Excellent understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns.
- Excellent programming skills in either Python, Scala, or Java.
- Hands-on experience in containerization/ virtualization platforms, e.g. Docker/Kubernetes.
- Good working knowledge of high performance computing, parallel data processing, and big data stack, e.g. Spark and Hadoop/Yarn.
- Self-motivated team lead who demonstrates initiative and flexibility
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Customer focused attitude, sensitivity to the changing and urgent needs of the business
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of build tools Maven, Gradle and DevOps environment using tools such as Git (e.g. Bitbucket), Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins) and Continuous Deployment (e.g. Fastlane).
- Experience in automated testing is an advantage
- Experience in working with code quality tools such as Sonar, Fortify or NexusIQ is an advantage
- Tech stack: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Java, Spring, Spring boot, Spring Webservices, Spring Cloud, Microservices, Kafka, Jenkins, git, Maven, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Dockers, and Linux
