Summary:

The Cloud Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions that align with DIT’s enterprise architecture principles. This role collaborates with project managers, developers, and DIT teams to drive cloud adoption, optimize infrastructure performance, and create cost-effective technology solutions. The Cloud Solution Architect will play a key role in evaluating solution feasibility, leading cloud migrations, defining architectural best practices, and ensuring adherence to security and compliance requirements. Additionally, this position will provide technical consulting during project execution and contribute to continuous implementation and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture & Solution Development
  • Define, install, and maintain cloud architecture standards, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
  • Develop cloud migration strategies, including workload assessments and infrastructure modernization.
  • Develop solution roadmaps to align cloud initiatives with DIT’s digital transformation goals. Lead the design and implementation of Azure-based cloud solutions, including hybrid environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.
  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner with DIT teams, enterprise architects, and security teams to develop cloud strategies.
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing architectural guidance and ensuring seamless technology integration.
  • Work with developers to optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Lead technology evaluations and provide recommendations on build vs. buy decisions.
  • Infrastructure & Security Management
  • Implement best practices for cloud governance, data security, and identity management.
  • Design, implement, and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based workloads.
  • Actively monitor cloud infrastructure performance and drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Support auditing activities in collaboration with external auditors and compliance teams.
  • Process Optimization & Automation
  • Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
  • Improve data pipelines and analytics capabilities, leveraging Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Develop frameworks for real-time data analytics and big data processing.

Education, Minimum Qualifications, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.5-7 years of experience in cloud solution architecture and implementation.
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure ML. Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in infrastructure, such as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
  • Experience in data engineering, big data analytics, and real-time processing frameworks.
  • Strong SQL and database design skills across multiple platforms.
  • Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI-driven cloud solutions.
  • Strong experience in multi-cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP).
