Job Description

Join Olsson’s South Facilities Engineering and Design team as a Senior Structural Design Technician and bring impactful structures to life across sectors like healthcare, data centers, education, and commercial development. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and documentation of complex structural systems, working closely with engineers and project teams to create high-quality, code-compliant drawings.

This position is ideal for an experienced drafter or designer who excels in Revit and has a strong understanding of structural detailing, construction documentation, and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed structural drawings and models using Revit and/or similar design software.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate conceptual and technical information into clear construction documents.
  • Apply knowledge of structural systems to prepare plans, sections, and details for building projects.
  • Participate in quality control processes and review drawings for accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain project documentation and assist in coordinating with other disciplines to ensure integrated design.
  • Contribute to drafting standards and process improvement within the structural team.
  • Support project timelines, deliverables, and coordination with internal and external partners.

  • 6+ years of experience in structural drafting and/or design.
  • Proficiency in Revit; experience with other BIM/CAD tools is a plus.
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of structural detailing and building systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
