We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Software Engineer. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment of highly available applications. The ideal candidate will be a Java developer who is comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies. They will be able to address mission-critical application diagnostics and troubleshooting.

The role will drive architectural decisions that ensure our systems scale efficiently, mentor our engineering team to accelerate overall productivity, and establish best practices that reduce technical debt while improving code quality. The expertise this role provides will directly impact on our ability to deliver reliable, high-performance products while building the technical foundation necessary for sustainable organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute at a senior level to a team responsible for the design, development, and implementation of critical business applications
  • Work within Agile software development methodologies
  • Create and maintain technical design documentation
  • Conduct research, analysis, coding, debugging, and testing
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented development environment
  • Perform QA testing on all code
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills
  • Coordinate with other departments to maintain a consistent focus on delivering high-quality outputs on schedule

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with any of the following technologies: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, Ant, Maven, Angular, TypeScript
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Cloud Technologies
  • Proficiency in GNU/Linux, Shell Scripting, Python
  • Experience with RESTful API, Swagger/OpenAPI, microservices development and distributed systems
  • Experience with IoT technologies, including AWS IoT (Shadow, Greengrass) and MQTT is a plus
  • Strong Knowledge of SQL and experience with one or more relational databases (e.g., MySQL), as well as familiarity with NoSQL databasess such as DynamoDB
  • Experience with version control software, such as Git
  • Full understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle, with using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Soild object-oriented design and programming skills, with working knowledge of design patterns

Location: Remote

Compensation

$130,000—$165,000 USD

Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
