Job Description
Sr. Manager, eCommerce Merchandising & Operations (Temporary Leave Coverage)
Location: 3 Days in Office in NYC – 2 remote
Reports To: Senior Director of eCommerce
Type: Full-time temporary role
Compensation: $72 per hour/40 hours per week
Overview: We’re seeking a detail-oriented, data-driven, and customer-obsessed Manager of eCommerce Merchandising & Operations to lead and optimize our online storefront. This role will oversee digital merchandising, content and marketing strategy, onsite content execution, and operational processes to deliver a best-in-class shopping experience and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
eCommerce Merchandising & Site Experience
- Own and execute the digital merchandising strategy, including product sorting, navigation, category page optimization, and on-site search.
- Visually merchandise products to support new launches, curated shops and brand campaigns alongside standard categories for L1, L2, and L3 navigation.
- Partner with planning and marketing teams to deliver campaign launches, product newness, promotions, and seasonal storytelling.
- Manage product page accuracy, image updates, pricing validation, and onsite availability.
- Regularly analyze onsite performance (CTR, conversion, bounce rate) and optimize for customer engagement.
- Enhance site search and search filters based on analytics
- Lead global merchandising and content strategy across international e-commerce sites, ensuring alignment with brand vision while tailoring assortments, messaging, and experiences to regional market needs.
- Optimize on site personalization experience based on user data and brand merchandising strategy.
- Partner with site experimentation team to conduct A/B tests to improve merchandising and user experience across devices.
Site Operations & Platform Management
- Serve as a key point of contact between ecommerce, IT, logistics, marketing and customer service and other key business stakeholders.
- Serve as day-to-day business lead for all CMS Platform site operations.
- Coordinate deployments by partnering with project management and tech teams to deliver projects and tickets within weekly development sprints. Manage UAT and troubleshoot issues across site.
- Manage operational calendars to ensure all digital assets and campaigns are delivered on time.
- Lead content staging and releases within the CMS Platform and JIRA process; validate before deployment.
Reporting & Optimization
- Monitor and report on sales performance by product, category, and onsite behavior. Use insights to drive business results.
- Collaborate with analytics to identify growth levers and friction points in the purchase journey.
- Recommend enhancements to search, sort, filter, and personalization features based on insights.
Team Management
- Coach and manage a team of merchandisers and site producers.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising or operations, with 1+ years hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
- Experience Managing a team
- Personalization tools such as Bloomreach, Dynamic Yield or Algolia.
- Strong knowledge of digital merchandising principles and UX best practices. Experience with AI & Chatbots a plus.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Superior Excel Skills.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end site operations and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong technical acumen with experience working with eCommerce tools such as Google Analytics, tagging platforms, product feed managers, and content management systems.
- Analytical mindset with ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and project management ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in luxury, fashion, or consumer goods.
- Familiarity with SFCC page designer, SEO best practices, and site testing tools.
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for troubleshooting and QA
