The Senior Product Owner, IT Enterprise Applications plays a crucial role in defining and driving the product roadmap, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives. The Senior Product Owner drives cross-functional alignment, mentors junior Product Owners, and takes ownership of complex products or portfolios. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, in-depth understanding of the product development lifecycle, and expert in Agile product delivery. The Sr Product Owner works closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and business stakeholders, to define requirements, prioritize features, and ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion a long-term product vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Lead discovery efforts engaging with stakeholders, customers, and market data to understand business needs, incorporate feedback into the product roadmap, and inform strategic product decisions.
  • Own and manage large, complex product backlogs with clarity, prioritization, and alignment to business value.
  • Drive strategic alignment across multiple teams and business units; work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of features and enhancements.
  • Facilitate roadmap planning, quarterly planning, and sprint reviews across teams; regularly communicate the product roadmap to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Partner with the development teams during sprint planning to ensure a shared understanding of requirements, translating them into detailed Epics, Features and user stories.
  • Plan, sequence, coordinate and deliver high-impact product releases, considering dependencies and potential impacts on other teams and systems.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor product metrics for assessment.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decisions and continuously improve the product.
  • Act as liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Communicate product updates, milestones, and changes to stakeholders; ensure timely delivery of product releases.
  • Provide thought leadership and influence across product domains; gather and incorporate feedback from various sources to enhance the product.
  • Lead and mentor Product Owners and other team members, supporting their growth and product mindset.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years as a Technical Product Owner in Agile Development.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing large projects with budgets of $1M or more and stakeholder management at all levels.
  • Certified Product Owner, Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) or 5+ years of related experience in Agile environment.
  • Experience utilizing different prioritization techniques such as MoSCow, Value vs. Effort, and Kano Model.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product management with a solid grasp of system documentation, including APIs, Pub/Sub architectures, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in the dental, healthcare or retail industry.
  • Experience working with multi-state healthcare services.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Agile methodologies and championing best practices.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions using an analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with product management tools and software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated advanced IT background with in-depth understanding of development principles and concepts.
  • Ability to transform complex technical information into clear, concise, and easily understood epics, features, and user stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage risk, and track progress effectively within a large organization.
  • Ability to contribute to go-to-market strategies and support adoption planning in partnership with marketing, sales, and operations.

Compensation Information

$150,000.00-$194,000.00 / Annually
