Position Summary

The Advancement Coordinator, Community Fundraising is critical to the success of the Community Fundraising Program for Siteman Cancer Center and WashU Medicine, serving as the touchpoint for a broad range of daily activities, projects and initiatives. This position requires great discretion in communicating with donors, vendors, and staff along with Siteman and School of Medicine leaders and faculty.

Position responsibilities include high-level project management support for the program, in-depth technology usage, as well as internal and external relationship development and management. The Advancement Coordinator effectively increases the Community Fundraising team’s ability to focus time and resources on fundraising.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Management and Donor Relations

  • Serve as primary liaison to external constituents seeking initial information about the Community Fundraising Program and tracking inquiries as needed. Ensure prospective community fundraising partners are connected with the correct director.
  • Assist with vetting and approving new event fundraising pages and submissions through the program’s peer-to-peer platform.
  • Facilitate stewardship touchpoints including managing the annual recognition plan for Siteman’s community fundraising event partners in order to assist with retention efforts.
  • Manage acknowledgement process, event organization, and promotional item mailings with support from department Administrative Assistant.
  • In partnership with the directors, provide support with the planning and execution of Siteman and School of Medicine community fundraising donor engagement activities and other calls to action. These activities may include but are not limited to: community event and marketing best practice lunch and learns, development of collateral materials per event segment, and targeted e-communications.

Administrative Support

  • Serves as the overall administrative support for the community fundraising program, including program data management, ARCH input, event calendar updates, gift tracking and reporting, expense processing, and general office support.
  • Serves as the primary assistant to two directors including management of calendars, telephone support, filing, scheduling meetings, and word processing.
  • Manages the community fundraising program expense process for the Siteman Cancer Center WUSM budget and Med UA budget.

Salary Range

$21.17 - $32.85 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
