The Tool Setup Technician (Vacuum Form) is responsible for setting up the work center for the required production job. This person works independently and must be responsible for the appropriate volume of work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

  • Change over jobs for production schedule requirements
  • Change tooling in the vacuum form machine. This will include using forklift, crane or other lift assist device.
  • Change fixtures in the work area. Return fixtures to the proper storage locations.
  • Start up and shut down vacuum form machines.
  • Set machine controls to proper limits for water and heat.
  • Set up area according to standardized work and footprint
  • Run off first piece and check dimensions, document results
  • Participate in team environment with 2 – 5 team members in the area
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Education and Experience/Skills:

Ability to operate the forklift, scissors lift and crane in a safe manner and gain certification within 3 business days

LOTO certified as authorized user within 3 business days

Previous experience in a production environment

High School graduate or GED preferred

Ability to interpret reports & analyze data

Must have own mechanic’s tool set and box

Must be able to:

Work flexible work schedules, coming in early or staying into the next shift as needed.

Work in tight spaces around equipment and machines

Work independently, make decisions, communicate with others

Lift, bend and reach, including below waist level and above shoulder level

Lift, push and pull weights of up to 30lbs frequently and up to 50lbs.occasionally

Use hands to manipulate parts and machine controls

Use vision to inspect parts, read blueprints and documents, and inventory sheets
