Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours are 7:00AM-3:00PM, including alternating weekends. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

General cleaning - 7 step cleaning procedure in assigned areas: high/low dusting, floor dusting, damp dusting and spot clean, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, damp mopping, vacuum carpets, damp mop or vacuum baseboards.

• Inspection of completed area: Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follow all prescribed State, Federal, JCAHO, Hospital and department standards.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Ability to provide a clean/safe environment for patients/visitors/team members.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.
• Great Customer service/people skills a must.

Relevant Experience:

• Up to three (3) years environmental aide/housekeeping experience in a healthcare/hospital environment preferred.
