About the role:

As Technical Support Engineer at Parabola, you’ll communicate with customers of all sizes to help unblock technical issues and foster an incredible customer experiences. You’ll help answer their more difficult questions, troubleshoot connecting to many kinds of databases or APIs, and educate them on Parabola building and automation best practices. You’ll also play a role in supporting Parabola’s operational excellence in support—improving our Pylon instance, writing support documentation, and growing our online customer support community.

Parabola supports a wide breadth of use cases so ideally, you are deeply curious and enjoy learning new things. Our platform supports over 50 integrations, so you’ll constantly encounter novel situations. On a typical day, you might help someone debug a database connection, troubleshoot API authentication, and help set up dashboards that will be consumed by the c-suite—often live or on the fly.

About you:

You are empathetic and solving the challenges of your customers and their businesses is what fuels you to do your best work. You are naturally curious and love learning about new industries, technologies, and use cases and love the feeling of having helped solve a complex problem. You’re comfortable with data and have direct experience working in SQL, Excel, and/or other data analytics and visualization tools.

Most importantly, you love to roll up your sleeves and pride yourself on your “figure it out and get it done” mentality. You execute quickly without sacrificing quality and juggle different priorities in a clear and organized way.

What you'll be doing:

  • Become a product expert on our no-code platform, continuously collaborating with our Sales and Launch teams on the priority and strategy of the customers we work with.
  • Document and surface feedback from customers to our Product and Engineering Teams in a clear, organized, and actionable way.
  • Answer a diverse array of questions from our customers via Slack, email, chat, and our public-facing community.
  • Build & troubleshoot complex Parabola flows, including configuring new API connections (REST & GraphQL), SQL queries, and more.
  • Leverage top-tier support tooling and incorporate innovative AI tech and achieve best-in-class support efficiency.
  • Jump on live calls and lead enablement sessions with our customers to help unblock them and add value in real time.
  • Drive urgency and hone your ability to prioritize issues based on severity, with a satisfaction from going above and beyond to provide solutions for customers.

What (we think) you’ll need to do it:

  • 2-4 years of previous customer/client-facing experience in a technical support or technical engineering role.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting API calls (REST & GraphQL).
  • Experience with data analytics (Excel, SQL).
  • Demonstrated track record of executing on tasks quickly while keeping an incredibly high bar for quality.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to navigate competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, preferably in small, fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with a knack for building relationships quickly.
  • Champion a growth mindset-- you're open to receiving feedback openly and continuously improving your craft!

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience working with no/low code tools
  • Previous experience working in a startup environment

Salary Range: $70,000-$95,000

This salary range represents the minimum and maximum for this role based in San Francisco and New York. The salary given for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including years of experience, interview performance and anticipated responsibilities of the role. Our base salary is one component of Parabola’s competitive total package, which also includes equity and premium health and wellness benefits.
