Job Description
The Risk Manager role will be part of the Product and Payment Services Risk (PPSR) – Strategy and Operations team, and will be responsible for identifying, driving and implementing enhancements to approaches across the risk management lifecycle within Visa’s three strategic pillars: Consumer Products, Data & Platform, Commercial Money Movement Solutions, and Value-Added Services. The successful candidate will own data and risk analysis, project execution and drive initiatives to completion. The candidate should have a strong track record of executing initiative with little direction. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, PPSR Strategy and Operations.
Candidate will be responsible for:
- Using analytical approaches and creative thinking to prioritize and lead initiatives that deliver material enhancements that evolve risk management approaches and processes across the Product, VAS and CMS organizations, including operational risk programs such as RCSAs, Risk Event and Root Cause Analysis, as well as Key Risk Indicators
- Partnering with risk management program owners and Risk Business Partners to ensure appropriate and effective roll out of enhanced approaches with 1st line of defense partners, including development of roll out and stakeholder engagement strategies utilizing project management skills
- Enhancing existing reporting and associated processes including identification of key and insightful risk metrics, driving automation and delivering effective use of Generative Artificial Intelligence
- Developing an expert understanding of risk information and data sources and becoming a subject matter expert on such sources to support Risk Business Partner and their first line colleagues
- Managing reporting calendars and procedures to ensure the timely production and risk management reports for Senior Decision makers
- Being a champion for risk management excellence through continuous identification of improvements to existing ways of working and risk management techniques and developing strong partnerships with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line colleagues
- Drive risk management technique awareness through developing, maintaining and presenting training materials to both 1st and 2nd line teams
- Researching industry best practices to identify improvements and ensure Visa continues to deliver world-class risk management techniques and programs

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
- Ability to work accurately with a sense of urgency, and deliver under tight deadlines/time frames
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
- Strong work ethic, can-do attitude and sense of humor required
- Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 2nd line risk management experience within the financial services or technology industry, with knowledge, skill and understanding in applying risk management practices specifically as it relates to operational and enterprise risk practices (risk and control assessments, scoring, appetite, tolerance, mitigation/management), incl. knowledge of industry risk management practices (e.g. COSO)
- Demonstrable data analytics experience and ability to synthesize large amounts of information, including development of automated reporting and dashboards
- Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI and IBM OpenPages
- Experience of delivering projects and/or strategic improvement programs across global companies with multiple stakeholder groups
- Understanding of the payments industry, including the regulatory environment (e.g. FBA supervision, PSD2), associated products/services and the broader competitive landscape

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,200 to 206,350 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
