JOB TITLE: RS Avionics/Electrical Technician II

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $32.18/hour

Summary:

  • Provide technical expertise in testing aircraft systems, troubleshooting discrepancies, and performing timely, high-quality repairs with minimal schedule impact.
  • Support process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • May assume responsibilities of the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician when needed.
  • Perform operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  • Install and functionally test electrical/avionics components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Repair or replace defective components and wiring using acceptable practices (e.g., splicing, soldering, pinning).
  • Execute engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Set up and operate test equipment; conduct functional and operational evaluations.
  • Accurately document all work performed and prepare for inspection.
  • Test and maintain electronic systems, test equipment, and components.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including FOD control, tool control, and 5S practices.
  • Adapt quickly to changes in scheduling and priorities.
  • May support aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electrical field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal and written.
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, work in confined areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Skills:

  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license
  • FCC license
  • NCATT certification
  • Proficiency in additional aircraft systems or disciplines such as:
    • Hydraulics
    • Landing gear
    • Flight controls
    • Environmental systems
    • Structural installations and repairs
