Yard forklift operator
Essential Job Duties
- Place the big parts of the car and truck division, take out and load the requested ones that are sold.
- Offload vehicle haulers, check-in process,
- Loading and offloading dismantle bays, safely securing vehicles on wheel stands.
- Place the parts of the car and truck division with a forklift.
- Operate both 14 and 6-foot forklifts.
- Give the best possible service to all departments who request it.
- Maintain the yard (repairs holes, trash removal, housekeeping, and snow removal).
- Some warehouse duties.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
- Stage cars in the yard according to process.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Not responsible for supervising employees.
Compensation Pay $17.00-$19.00hr DOE
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
Preferred Requirements
- Prior forklift experience.
- Prior automotive experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
- Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions or procedures.
- Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved.
- Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.
- Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
- The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. On occasion, an employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
