A Day in the Life

In this exciting role on the Global Functions Finance Team, you will be part of a best-in-class Finance team, responsible for the ongoing support of the Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Affairs (CMRA) function. This role contributes to strategically guiding CMRA to their business objectives through strategic FP&A activities: modeling, reporting, data analysis and more. This role resides at Operational Headquarters (OHQ) in the United States (US) and reports to the Global Functions Finance Director. This role will be onsite 4 days/week at OHQ.

CMRA drives innovative clinical research, medical and regulatory strategies and solutions to improve patients’ lives and enable the Medtronic Mission. The role will work directly with our partners in CMRA and the Global Functions Finance team in the US, ensuring CMRA’s critical work is understood, financially supported and strategically executed.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Established and productive individual contributor, in FP&A and accounting subjects such as: analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements, working capital, asset management including depreciation, cash flow, variance analysis, business case preparation & related theories, and financial planning/forecasting.
  • Collaborates with CMRA, Finance, and other areas across the company as needed to drive results.
  • Solves Problems by understanding breadth of issue, recommending enhancements, seeks alignment and executes.
  • Communicates well and frequently with direct management and stakeholders
  • Experience with cost accounting, lean transformation, and cost down initiatives are a plus.
  • Experience with GFS, Essbase, OneStream and/or SAP. Experience with Medtronic FP&A processes, systems and organizational alignment is a plus.
  • Experience with OUS transactions, (especially payroll) – vacation, taxes, etc. Especially in Europe, where each country is a bit different
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting or an Advanced Degree with 0+ years of work experience

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including revenue and expense analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify key trends and drivers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Expertise in using systems and data to provide insightful analysis and implement actionable recommendations
  • High level of business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate with limited oversight
  • Experience managing projects that require high collaboration across teams and building relationships
  • Familiarity with Medtronic financial systems, including SAP, Onestream, Essbase and Hyperion.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • An MBA or CPA designation is a plus.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68,800.00 - $103,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
