JOB PURPOSE

Are you an experienced community manager who thrives on both strategy and structure? Can you not only engage communities but also guide and train others to do the same? We're looking for a Lead Community Manager to help elevate our social presence—and our team.

In this role, you’ll combine hands-on community management with a leadership position in our social team. You’ll be the go-to person for the community managers, responsible for training, planning, quality control, and escalation handling. You’ll set the tone for how we engage with audiences—across brands, platforms, and moments that matter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ???? Manage social communities for top-tier brands: reply to comments/DMs, jump on trends, and keep your finger on the pulse.
  • ???? Train and coach new and current community managers on tone of voice, process, and brand guidelines.
  • ????️ Build and oversee the community management schedule—ensuring full coverage across clients and channels.
  • ???? Support, guide, and motivate the community team on day-to-day questions and challenges.
  • ???? Act as the first escalation point when sensitive or urgent issues arise in online conversations.
  • ???? Monitor and report on trends, sentiment, and opportunities for optimization.
  • ???? Collaborate closely with social strategists and creatives to align content and community insights.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Fluency in Dutch and Dutch culture
  • 3+ years of experience in community management, preferably in an agency or multi-brand environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills—flawless, fast, and on-brand.
  • A calm, organized mindset—you’re a natural planner and a strong communicator.
  • Previous experience guiding or mentoring a small team of working students.
  • Strong sense of tone, empathy, and social nuance.
  • Familiarity with tools like Coosto, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, or similar.

WE OFFER

  • A flexible, hybrid working policy (2-3 days from the office, depending on location) and the opportunity to work from abroad for 13 weeks a year.
  • 24 vacation days per year and the possibility to buy an unlimited number of extra vacation days.
  • DEPT®/YOU Learning Menu and DEPT®/YOU Special Programs. Develop your skills with courses and programs tailored to your needs.
  • Stay happy and healthy with a contribution to your health through the OpenUp platform, gym and wellness discounts, and healthy lunches at the office.
  • Get a discount on your lease bike and ride in style. You can also enjoy hassle free-commutes with an NS Business Card.
  • A reputation for doing good. DEPT® has been a Certified B Corp® since 2021, has been named a Great Place To Work since 2022 in the Netherlands and named ‘Agency of the Year’ at both The Lovies and The Webby Awards.
  • Awesome clients. Whether big, small, local or global — at DEPT® you’ll get the opportunity to work with all of them. And we celebrate all of our successes together!
