The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $145,260 - $181,575

Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Supplier Programs will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies to enhance Equal Opportunity Supplier and Supplier Sustainability within the organization. This pivotal role demands a visionary leader with extensive experience in procurement, equal opportunity supplier programs, and sustainability initiatives. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving program execution, and ensuring alignment with the company's overarching goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of sustainability and inclusivity, and driving innovation and change at an executive level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Set the strategic direction for sustainability and equal opportunity supplier programs, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching goals and objectives.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Lead the design and execution of comprehensive sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices among suppliers.
  • Supplier Engagement and Support: Provide strategic direction and support to suppliers, guiding them to achieve and exceed sustainability metrics.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Oversee the monitoring and reporting of sustainability metrics at a strategic level, developing high-level reports that inform executive decision-making.
  • Champion Equal Opportunity: Advocate for the equal opportunity supplier program by identifying and engaging with key suppliers, ensuring equal opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior internal stakeholders, including procurement, sustainability, and business leaders, to enhance the company's strategies through effective communication and promotion of sustainability and equal opportunity initiatives.
  • Benchmarking and Best Practices: Conduct high-level benchmarking studies and stay informed about industry best practices to continuously improve the company's programs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, managing risks associated with supplier sustainability and equal opportunities at a strategic level.
  • Leadership: Coach, guide and develop the Supplier Programs team to deliver the strategic initiatives of the function.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Sustainability, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in equal opportunity supplier programs, sustainability programs, or procurement, with a focus on the utility industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong Knowledge of sustainability metrics and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at an executive level.
  • Empathy, the ability to understand and address employee needs and concerns at a strategic level.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust strategies based on feedback and changing business needs.
  • Execute vision, clear understanding of the company’s mission and values, and the ability to integrate them into all aspects of the business.
  • Team leadership experience and capabilities.
