Position Title: Director of Elementary Education
Salary Range: Regionally Competitive
Contract Length: Contractual Year
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Basic Function:
Plan, organize, control and direct operations and activities involved in the planning, development,
implementation and evaluation of all Director of Elementary Schools assignments; coordinate and
direct the research, collection, processing, analysis, interpretation and reporting of assessment data in
the evaluation of the educational effectiveness of educational programs, operations and instructional
activities.
Job Description:
? Facilitate program development and practices for intermediate centers and high schools aligned
with the Association of Elementary Education.
? Provide coaching and professional development for secondary school administrators and teachers
in the areas of curriculum, assessment, and instruction
? Ensure development and implementation for Common Core at the secondary school level
? Identify and create capacity for engagement with Coaching for Results and Educator Teaching
and Learning Initiative
? Engage in cultivating and facilitating university and community partnerships which support
secondary education
? Organize and support programs and practice which impact secondary schools
? Ensure intermediate centers effectively implement HEA 1419
? Assist and support implementation of the Administrator and Teacher Growth and
Proficiency system
? Assist in development and implementation of professional development and coaching for
administrators and teachers
? Attend all regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Education
? Direct the work of secondary school principals
? Collaborate with the Chief of Education and Innovation Services and Title I program
administrator in curriculum development and implementation
? Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Education and Innovation Services
Qualifications:
Must have strong planning, listening, organizational, supervisory, analytical, problem-solving, computer, organizational, accountability, multi-tasking, flexibility, resourcefulness, and oral and written communications skills. Incumbents
must possess knowledge of the comprehensive organization, operations, policies and objectives of
assigned department or area.
