Position Summary:

As a rapidly expanding global leader in IT services, Cognizant is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Consultant to join our Data & AI practice within Technology Consulting.

This Senior Data Consultant role will be specialising in Microsoft Azure and Snowflake technologies and be responsible for architecting and implementing next-generation data solutions that unlock unprecedented insights and create measurable business impact.

Mandatory Skills:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud-based data technologies
• Strong SQL & data modelling skills
• Experience in ETL, performance tuning & Azure cloud platform
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud data capabilities such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and other cutting-edge Azure data services.
• Expertise in Snowflake features (e.g. SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks).
• Proven ability to architect data solutions in a consulting or client-facing environment
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in and lead cross-functional teams
• Exposure to Databricks, reporting tools and dbt is desirable
• Experience/Exposure with other major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus, enabling multi-cloud strategy development
• Relevant certifications are desirable (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Snowflake , Power BI )

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement comprehensive, cutting-edge data solutions using Microsoft Azure and Snowflake technologies
• Develop and optimise ETL pipelines and applications
• Optimise cloud database and performance
• Engage directly with clients to understand business challenges and translate them into innovative technical solutions
• Participate in workshops and technical deep-dives to uncover opportunities for data-driven transformation
• Participate in client-facing presentations and proposals, articulating complex technical solutions to both technical and executive audiences
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
• Actively participate in the broader data engineering community, representing the company at industry events and fostering relationships with key Microsoft and Snowflake partners
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery methodologies, incorporating lessons learned from client engagements to enhance service offerings
• Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies especially Microsoft and Snowflake related, actively experimenting with new features and capabilities
• Contribute to the development of proprietary accelerators and frameworks

Qualifications & Certifications (Optional):

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Snowflake , Power BI ) are desirable

Salary Range: >$100,000
