Job Description and Duties

The Police Practices Section conducts a variety of investigations, including civil and criminal, publishes reports regarding issues relating to constitutional policing in California, and supports the Department’s responsibilities for implementing Assembly Bill 1506 and other law enforcement-related enactments and mandates. The Associate Government Program Analyst (AGPA) in the Police Practices Section independently performs a wide variety of complex analytical duties. Those duties include, but are not limited to, identifying issues or policy areas to explore, collecting and analyzing information, overseeing program project management, assists with interviewing, compliance measures, tracking and analysis of data, researching and writing complex analyses and fact sheets. The AGPA will also make recommendations to the Police Practices Section in the area of constitutional policing in California, police practices, and discrimination. The AGPA may serve as a lead to other analysts.
