The Career Advisor coordinates the ongoing strategic communications to prospective students and maintains a case management system to report outcomes to the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and the College.

The Career Advisor supports Dual Enrollment and Independent Dual Enrollment students to identify and participate in educational opportunities at Germanna Community College. In partnership with Career & Transfer Services, community organizations, and local employers, the Career Advisor assists students in identifying Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities such as paid internships, externships, apprenticeships, and part-time employment while enrolled in high school and/or at Germanna Community College.

The Part-Time Career Advisor will report to a specific service area high school during the School Year. The high school will provide the Career Advisor with an office or workstation space, and access to school internet, data systems, and other technologies to facilitate career advising.
