The Purpose of This Role

Fidelity Labs is looking for a AI Applied Research practitioner to join a new startup. The startup’s focus is building innovative technology for financial services. This role will be responsible for working closely with Data Scientists and Engineering product managers to bring game-changing ideas to market.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

  • Experience delivering product based on Transformer Architecture in any domain like, NLP, Computer Vision, Audio and Multimodal and Multitask setup.
  • Knowledge of different Transformer variants; pros and cons
  • Experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow (optional) and building models on GPU environment
  • Ability to extend the Transformer architecture to build efficient custom models.
  • Experience turning projects into academic publications. Accepted papers at conferences a plus.
  • Optional experience building NER solutions
  • Working experience of training and building models models on AWS services or other cloud.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML libraries (including scikit learn, Pandas) and their internals
  • Building quick protype using Streamlit or Gradio
  • Knowledge of Docker and AWS container orchestration is plus.
  • Experience with MLOps tools like WeightsAndBiases or any other
  • Direct experience in Agile, SCRUM, git, JIRA etc. and use of the Atlassian tool suite

The Skills that are Good To Have for this role

  • Your experience and expertise on full stack software development would be desirable
  • You should have an experience in Machine Learning Engineering for deployment of models in production.
  • Effective communication, able to work with teams, presentation skills - required for the role.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • A PhD in a quantitative field with experience working as a key contributor in a data science team
  • Experience with NLP and LLMs. Academic publications in these fields.

The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
