Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Project Manager for The New Jersey State Policy Lab within the Bloustein School of Public Planning and Policy.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Leads research projects and a scoping study, support database management.
  • Conducts statistical analyses, develops and administers surveys/interview protocols.
  • Conducts literature reviews, writes reports, and oversees quantitative and qualitative research by teams of researchers.
  • Conducts financial analyses, demand assessments, and comparative analyses, and will evaluate outcome measures.
  • Manages workflow on various aspects of work, and prepares research briefs, methodological papers, and presentations.
  • Manages relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Plans events with large gatherings of policymakers, researchers, the public, etc.

This position is grant-funded and contingent upon available funding.

Salary Details

Minimum Salary 79387.00

Mid Range Salary 100485.00

Maximum Salary 121582.00

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences, economics, education, social work, psychology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in applied quantitative research.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods.
  • Experience in the management of large, complex projects involving multiple institutions and stakeholders.
  • Must complete all training and certifications required to work with human subjects.
  • Proficiency using statistical packages or languages (e.g., Stata, R, Python, SPSS, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of people with severe physical disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D., Ed.D., or other doctoral degree.
  • 5+ years of experience of applied policy research.
  • Familiarity with qualitative analytic tools (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose, etc.).
  • Experience designing survey protocols and/or conducting research interviews.
  • Experience coordinating with video production/multimedia teams.
  • Experience coordinating the development of a web-based database landing page/website.
  • Experience using data management software (e.g., SQL database, etc.).
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Plotly, etc.).
