Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in public policy, business, engineering, law or relevant field.
  • Knowledge of the competition and consumer protection regulatory landscape, and adjacent risk areas.
  • Understanding of compliance program management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, management, regulators, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail, and the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts/requirements to audiences.

The Risk, Compliance and Integrity organization (RCI) brings together critical compliance, assurance, risk and governance functions across Google to help the company meet compliance needs and enable our businesses to innovate. Our goal is to make compliance an advantage for Google by driving scaled, data-driven, and policy-based compliance programs. We manage our operations through risk-based prioritization and governance and consistent and constructive regulator engagement.

In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting the establishment and maintenance of a robust risk and compliance framework. You will be responsible for helping oversee Google’s compliance with its legal and regulatory consumer protection obligations. You will require domain expertise, an understanding of compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and internal controls, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization.

You will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of building and managing robust compliance programs, including developing and enforcing comprehensive policies and guidelines, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $131,000-$192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to translate Google’s obligations across legal, regulatory, and self-regulatory domains into compliance requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify key risks and priorities for the compliance function and areas of focus across the compliance ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with product areas and functions to design business processes and controls that are adequate to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Review issues and incidents to assess risk and ensure remediation plans are adequate.
  • Identify risk trends through external research and monitoring of regulatory priorities and consumer sentiment and translate them into actionable policies and standards.
