Job Description

As a Business Controller, you will play a key role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making across our Food, Feed & Water business units. You will act as a trusted financial advisor to the management team, driving focus on business growth and profitability with insightful analysis, and alignment with strategic goals and ensuring robust financial control.

This is a high-impact role suited for a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary financial point of contact for all business units within the Food, Feed & Water division.
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable KPIs and cascade them across business units.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and strategic scenario analyses to support investment and product decisions.
  • Partner with management teams to drive growth, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and foster a culture of financial accountability.
  • Lead and monitor budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes.
  • Analyze variances against budget and forecast, and provide actionable insights.
  • Manage total spend across business units and flag deviations in a timely manner.
  • Optimize net working capital and cash flow performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA/MSc), or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, CPA, or similar is highly desirable.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in business controlling, preferably in a commercial or laboratory services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Flemish is required; good knowledge of French is a strong plus.
