OVERVIEW:

The Controller at Aramco Trading Americas (ATA) will lead the financial reporting, internal controls, and back-office operations supporting ATA’s domestic and international trading activities. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of ATA’s financial and operational processes, including IFRS reporting, hydrocarbon settlements, inventory reconciliation, and contract management. The Controller will also oversee relationships with external service providers and ensure seamless integration across systems and teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Oversee internal control compliance programs and ensure alignment with ATC policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors (e.g., PwC) for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and assess impacts of new IFRS pronouncements.
  • Manage IFRS 16 lease accounting and HR payroll/benefits accounting.

Hydrocarbon Accounting & Settlements

  • Oversee monthly hydrocarbon accounting close, including inventory valuation and MTM.
  • Ensure timely and accurate physical and financial settlements (domestic, international, and marine).
  • Manage Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO) and RINs reporting and compliance.
  • Lead inventory and account reconciliations at terminals and storage locations.

Contracts, Confirmations & Procurement

  • Supervise contract reviews and confirmations for all trading activities.
  • Manage offshore confirmations team and resolve discrepancies with front office.
  • Oversee procurement of logistics services and subscriptions in compliance with ATA policies.

Cash Forecasting & Financial Analysis

  • Lead cash forecasting and variance analysis for Supply & Trading business units.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and other Finance teams for financial planning and analysis.
  • Support KPI reporting and performance improvement initiatives.

Systems, Integration & Projects

  • Collaborate with IT on finance system improvements and integration (e.g., SAP, RightAngle).
  • Lead accounting/reporting integration for M&A and transformation initiatives.
  • Manage external service providers supporting back-office operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with 5+ years in commodities trading or oil & gas.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and hydrocarbon accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP, RightAngle, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work in an office environment, located in downtown Houston, TX

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or advanced degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Experience with system migrations, automation, and robotics in finance operations.
  • Public accounting background and project management experience.
