Main Purpose of Job
The primary\r\nresponsibilities are to manage, direct, administer, coordinate and enforce all\r\nfunctions of the agency’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program (EEO), Fair\r\nPractices and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).� This includes handling any associated budget\r\nresponsibilities, and all EEO activities while building a well-diversified\r\nworkforce for Commerce employees and its job applicants.\r\n\r\n\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
\r\nThe Director will conduct necessary\r\ninvestigations, deliver agency compliance trainings, and other relevant\r\nprograms. This is accomplished while\r\npromoting a diverse, inclusive and equitable workforce that is free of unlawful\r\ndiscrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The incumbent will represent Commerce in matters relating to the functions of the Office by responding to\r\nand meeting with external administrative and enforcement entities, as well as\r\nwith managers and officials of other agencies.\r\nThis position must maintain effective, strict, professional\r\nconfidentiality and abide by legal compliance.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCandidates\r\nmust possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills\r\nto communicate effectively; strong organizational skills; have the ability to handle multiple,\r\nconcurrent and high priority tasks; effectively interact with all levels of\r\ninternal employees, the public/applicants, government officials and enforcement\r\nagencies; have a demonstrated and proficient knowledge of equal opportunity and\r\nfair practices according to Federal, State, and local laws, rules, policies, and\r\nregulations.� \r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A�Bachelor’s degree from an\r\naccredited college or university AND\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: Seven (7) years of professional experience with\r\nfive (5) of the years involving recent demonstrated administrative/professional full\r\nperformance experience in Maryland State EEO, Fair Practices, and the administration\r\nand accommodation of the ADA. �This\r\nexperience must have included related policy creation and implementation, investigating\r\nclaims, and compliance and experience conducting training programs.\r\n\r\n\r\nNote: Additional\r\nyears of experience may be substituted year-for-year for the required\r\neducation.�\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants�who possess the following preferred qualification(s).�Include clear and specific information on your application regarding�your qualifications.\r\nExperience administering the State’s EEO program, aligned with the policies of\r\nthe Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator’s Office.\r\nExperience monitoring\r\npolicy and compliance with state/federal EEO laws and policies, conducting\r\ninvestigations, and mediating complaints on discrimination, harassment,\r\nretaliation and bullying.�\r\nExperience producing investigative reports, formal\r\nresponses to complaints, and position statements.�\r\nExperience developing and\r\ndelivering training on MD State Sexual Harassment Policy.\r\nProficient\r\nExperience in the use of Workday, Google Email & Drive, Microsoft Office\r\nSuite, tracking and reporting, developing Power Point training presentations,\r\nand knowledge of other relevant software/systems. \r\n

Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor\r\nvehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n\r\n\r\n
