The Position

As part of the Software Engineering chapter at Roche, you will work alongside internal experts across multiple products supporting Roche’s internal business needs. In your role as Tech Lead / Solution Architect, your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the end-to-end technical implementation of application architecture. Ensure architectural alignment with project goals, Roche standards, and industry best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of technical solutions, identifying and mitigating potential security, scalability, and performance risks.
• Champion and promote the adoption of AI-enabled software engineering within the product area. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in full-stack development and cloud architecture.
• Communicate technical vision clearly to development teams and stakeholders. Act as a bridge between development teams and business stakeholders to align on technical decisions and constraints.
• Oversee the development of new features using core technologies (.NET, Angular) within cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• Continuously evaluate and improve technical processes, tools, and methodologies in line with Roche and industry standards. Conduct regular code and design reviews to ensure quality and adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Present complex technical concepts in an understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for code, designs, and system processes.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven track record as a Solution Architect and Technical Lead. Advanced proficiency in core programming languages: .NET, Java, Angular. Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes) and their architectural principles with multiple years of enterprise-level software development experience.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled software engineering tools and practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Bash scripting).
• Practical experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work across time zones; moderate travel may be required.
