WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

As a Lead IT Operation Specialist – Linux, you will play a key role in owning, managing, and modernizing SimCorp’s global Linux server infrastructure, with a particular focus on our Ubuntu-based systems. You will be based in Manila and work as part of a global team, supporting SimCorp offices and data centers worldwide.

This is a practical technical role embedded within our IT Operations Center, where you will ensure consistent service delivery, drive standardization, and lead efforts to upgrade and consolidate legacy Linux systems. You will collaborate with colleagues across IT infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to deliver a robust, scalable, and modern Linux platform.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Serve as the global owner of SimCorp’s Ubuntu Linux server infrastructure
  • Install, configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers and associated services
  • Lead the assessment, upgrade, and consolidation of legacy Linux systems
  • Define and enforce global standards and best practices for Linux configurations
  • Monitor system performance and availability using tools like SolarWinds
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Linux platforms
  • Execute and automate patch management and software deployments
  • Manage the full server lifecycle, from provisioning to decommissioning
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of infrastructure, processes, and changes
  • Ensure efficient handling of day-to-day incidents, service requests, and support tickets
  • Support IT asset tracking and configuration management
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to ensure alignment and high-quality service delivery
  • Participate in IT strategy discussions by sharing suggestions for improving and innovating our infrastructure

WHAT WE VALUE

  • In-depth knowledge of Ubuntu Linux server administration
  • Experience modernizing and migrating legacy Linux installations
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Veeam
  • General understanding of Microsoft platforms (AD, O365, Citrix, Intune)
  • Experience with identity and access management, user creation, and security controls
  • Adept scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or similar for automation
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting platforms (e.g., SolarWinds)
  • Knowledge of ITSM practices and tools, experience Jira and Confluence is beneficial
  • Solid documentation and process adherence skills
  • Experience with ITIL (Foundation or higher)
  • High-level skills in problem resolution and incident management
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage tasks in a complex global environment
  • Solid communication skills in English and a team-oriented mindset
  • Act with speed, accountability, and service orientation
  • Amenable to work in a hybrid setup (2x per week in the office) following a SHIFTING schedule
