Job Type: Full-Time | Consultant (12-Month Contract)

Location: Burnsville, MN 55306

Schedule: Monday to Friday | First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; flexible, most work 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

Pay Rate: $40.41/hour

Overtime: Voluntary, up to 10 hours

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Are you ready to turn your technical talent into impact? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Senior Technician – Test Engineer to support our client’s Avionics Test Engineering team in Burnsville, MN. This is your opportunity to play a critical hands-on role in creating, refining, and supporting advanced test systems for both commercial and defense aerospace products.

Your work will directly support a $5B Avionics strategic business unit—driving innovation, reliability, and excellence in manufacturing test solutions for high-performance sensors and systems used by armed services and global airlines.

Your Day-to-Day: What You’ll Do

• Build test hardware including cables, boxes, and racks per engineering schematics and documentation
• Review test system designs and collaborate on updates to schematics, BOMs, drawings, and hardware documentation
• Troubleshoot and repair test hardware issues reported by production operations
• Support the entire lifecycle of test systems, from design to deployment
• Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, operators, and technicians
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical innovation

Qualifications: What You Bring

Required:

• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wire lists
• Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting test hardware and cable assemblies
• Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and using standard electrical tooling

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Minnesota state electrical codes and standards
• Experience building and maintaining complex test systems
• Understanding of BOMs, component classification, and documentation processes
• Strong team communication and a willingness to mentor others

Pay Details: $40.41 per hour
