General Function

This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours a week) Monday through Thursday from August 1st through May 31st.

The primary job duties of the Field Placement and Compliance Specialist are assisting with the placement of teacher candidates into practicum and student teaching settings with school districts, ensuring compliance documents for placement are current and valid, providing program support to teacher certification program participants in the schools participants in the schools, providing support for supervisory staff, data entry and data management related to the Professional Education Services database, compliances, and Banner, and producing reports for stakeholders such as the Professional Education Services office, program coordinators, dean and associate deans, and for state and federal reporting.

Description of Primary Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Acts as liaison between Professional Education Services and school administrators (K–12, in-state and out-of-state) to coordinate practicum and student teaching placements.
  2. Coordinates with teacher education program coordinators to obtain placement recommendations and track compliance for field experiences.
  3. Manages data entry and reporting for placements and compliances using internal systems (e.g., Banner).
  4. Ensures confidentiality in handling and reporting compliance documentation.
  5. Maintains and updates websites, forms, and documents to ensure accurate, up-to-date information; remains proficient with relevant software.
  6. Works collaboratively with Professional Education Services staff to support student success.
  7. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of two years in a Birth–Grade 12 school, higher education, or related setting is preferred.

Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. Must be proficient with technology and adaptable to new systems.
