Job Description

Position Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Commercial Business Development lead to drive revenue growth for EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE)—a cutting-edge, software-defined industrial automation solution. This role will focus on expanding market awareness, influencing key decision-makers, and driving adoption among system integrators, OEMs, and industrial end-users with the ultimate kpi of increasing sales growth in EAE.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct sales through customer engagement - promote, prescribe, and close deals for EAE.
  • Identifying and initiating relationships with accounts that align with EAE’s capabilities.
  • Collaborating with broader sales and technical teams to drive and secure large-scale opportunities.

The Ideal candidate

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional with deep expertise in industrial automation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, technical sales, and solution consulting, with a proven ability to influence key decision-makers and drive the adoption new technology.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a matrix organization. The successful candidate will be recognized as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to both internal teams and external customers and partners as they implement EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE). Having an in-depth knowledge of how Industrial segments and their associated applications work is key to this role. (WWW (water & waste water), MMM (mining, mineral, metal), Consumer Packaged Goods, Energy & Chemicals, Infrastructure, Cloud & Services Provider is advantageous).

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Revenue Growth – Direct Selling
    • Drive commercial success through consultative and prescriptive selling techniques.
    • Identify, qualify, and nurture high-potential business opportunities, including pilot projects, proof-of-concept (PoC) implementations, and full-scale rollout of EAE.
    • Collaborate with channel partners, system integrators, and EPC firms to develop joint go-to-market strategies.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, and long-term agreements to maximize revenue potential.
  • Market Development & Strategy Execution
    • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that positions EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE) as a disruptive open automation platform.
    • Align business development initiatives with global trends in industrial automation, Industry 4.0, and software-driven control systems.
    • Analyze customer pain points, competitor offerings, and emerging market trends to refine the value proposition and influence OEM’s, System Integrators and End Users to adopt EAE.
  • Stakeholder Engagement, Influence & Prescription
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineering, operations, IT, and executive decision-makers to promote EAE adoption at the customer.
    • Engage with C-level executives, plant managers, automation engineers, and IT-OT leaders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
    • Collaborate internally with lines of business, offer managers and other stakeholders to ensure the growth of EAE.
    • Build a network of early adopters, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and reference customers to advocate for EAE within the industry.
    • Support System Integrators and consultants to integrate EAE into their project specifications.
    • Be the voice of the customer internally and to the LOB to influence roadmaps and provide market insights that will help grow EAE faster.
    • Segment Focus: Collaborate with segment teams to identify and penetrate strategic sub-segments and applications for EAE.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership
    • Work closely with EAE COE (Center of excellence), product management, marketing, and customer success teams to align solutions with market needs.
    • Provide direct customer feedback to product development teams to enhance EAE’s features, usability, and scalability.
    • Coordinate with pre-sales specialists, solution specialists, and application specialists to develop and present tailored automation solutions to the customer using EAE.
    • Be the subject matter expert on EAE to the customer.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’ degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in consultative, technical solution sales – Essential to this role
  • A deep understanding of Industrial Automation and applications – Essential to this role
    • Experience with industrial control systems (ICS), PLC/SCADA, DCS, edge computing.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Travel

  • This role will require approximately 30-50% of travel.
