Who are we looking for?

GHD has an opportunity for a Team Leader / Technical Director to join our growing Central Region Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) Group based in our Houston, TX office with the flexibility of a hybrid (office/remote) work environment. If you are a self-motivated professional with excellent technical skills, federal/state/local environmental regulatory knowledge, team building skills, and existing relationships with clients, prospects, and regulators then this is a great opportunity to explore!

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Collaboration with other leaders in the development and execution of business strategies and initiatives to expand the CAR business in the Central Region and beyond
• Build and mentor a team that is engaged and driven to provide high-quality results and solutions to our clients’ projects and challenges
• Maintain a high external profile through membership/attendance in industry organizations and continually growing a contact base
• Maintain high internal profile through CAR project pursuits, wins, and delivery
• Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits, which leverage GHD’s capabilities and value proposition
• Technical project management and direction while maintaining client satisfaction and ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget

What you will bring to the team:

• Experience building and leading a high-functioning team specializing in contaminated sites, investigation and remediation
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico regulatory environment including RRC, TCEQ, LDEQ, and NMOCD.
• Solid understanding of U.S. EPA regulations, State environmental regulations for various states, and other standards/regulations affecting the regulated community
• Experience with preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure; working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air; and groundwater understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants.
• Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects and deep understanding of industry standards
• Development of efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific needs and challenges
• Ability to travel for short durations which will include overnight travel
• Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree in Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation
• Professional Designation/License (Colorado REP, Engineer, Geologist, etc) a plus
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
