Job Description

Overview:

The Food Service Manager is a key role in assisting Wonderful Citrus in meeting our vision for providing healthy food options for our employees. A key aspect of this role is relationship building and between the Delano campus Operations team, The Wonderful Company Director of Hospitality and the company Nutritionist. This position is responsible for overseeing of food preparation, ensuring there is high quality, healthy food available for employees. The Food Service Manager will lead the organizing of food preparation, ordering food and drink supplies, maintaining equipment, adhering to health and safety precautions, making sure the kitchen and the dining areas are cleaned. This individual will ensure a safe, cost-effective, and compliant operation. Wonderful Citrus is strongly committed to health and wellness and the two restaurants locations will reflect this by serving quality breakfast, lunch and dinner to employees.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Develops training processes to ensure safety and sanitation practices, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the entire restaurant
• Active engagement and ownership of human capital planning -- recruiting, hiring, developing and mentoring team
• Champions continuous improvement activities to improve processes, quality and service
• Fosters a safe and healthy work environment and provides a high level of safety awareness through continual communication, education and enforcement of safe work practices
• Develops, implements, and monitors annual goals and objectives for the food service organization supports the strategic and financial objectives of the company
• Provides strategic vision and direction leveraging a hands-on approach in the creation of new menu options and food service items available to employees
• Collaborating with other departments & functions to provide excellent restaurant and catering service

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

• Minimum of 5 years’ restaurant management experience required
• Hospitality management or Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
• Experience leading in a company-owned food service preferred
• Computer literacy and familiarity with restaurant management software required
• P&L experience with food, supplies, and labor cost
• Background in nutritional education highly desirable
• Initiate all purchase orders. Estimate consumption, forecast requirements and maintain inventory
• Monday – Friday work shift. Occasional weekends required

Pay Range: $85,000 -$110,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
