The Role:

Xylem is seeking an experienced and strategic Lead Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional to lead quality assurance efforts across enterprise data platforms including Databricks, Power BI, SAP, SQL Server, and Oracle. The successful candidate will oversee the design and execution of comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of business-critical data pipelines and reporting solutions.

As Lead Quality Assurance Analyst, you will play a key role in establishing best practices, mentoring QA team members, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive quality across the full software development lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of enterprise-wide test strategies, test plans, and test cases for:
    • Data pipelines in Databricks and Azure Data Factory
    • Reports and dashboards in Power BI
    • SAP data extracts and integrations
    • Complex SQL logic and stored procedures in SQL Server, Oracle, and T-SQL
  • Define and maintain QA standards, methodologies, and best practices across projects.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure accurate validation of KPIs, business logic, and reporting metrics.
  • Drive regression, integration, system, and UAT testing cycles for analytics platforms.
  • Own the defect lifecycle from detection through resolution, using tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA.
  • Establish and maintain quality documentation including test strategies, traceability matrices, and validation reports.
  • Lead test automation and CI/CD QA initiatives in collaboration with DevOps teams.
  • Mentor and support junior QA staff, fostering continuous improvement and technical growth.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and act as a quality advocate throughout development sprints.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or senior QA role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL across multiple platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, T-SQL).
  • Demonstrated experience testing in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and SAP environments.
  • Deep understanding of data quality principles, data governance, and validation of ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Skilled in using test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or TestRail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with proven ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
  • Experience designing and facilitating UAT processes with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git, and CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools.
  • QA certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks or scripting for data validation.

Salary range:

$93,900.00 - $169,000.00
