Your Impact

As a Data Scientist at QuantumBlack in Chile, you will partner with some of the world’s leading organizations to tackle their most critical challenges using data. From data owners and end users to C-level executives, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs and design impactful analytics solutions that drive performance.

You will be a key contributor in cross-functional problem-solving sessions, translating complex business questions into analytical problems and building models that address them—ensuring those models are evaluated with relevant, actionable metrics.

You will help shape the development of our internal Data Science Toolbox, writing highly optimized code and supporting the delivery of innovative, scalable solutions.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Present your work to colleagues and clients, communicating insights in a clear and compelling way
  • Write and present papers at internal and external conferences (such as NeurIPS and ICML), if you choose to
  • Join global retrospectives and R&D initiatives, learning and sharing alongside experts across QuantumBlack
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams that bring together data science, engineering, design, and business expertise

Our projects range from accelerating clinical research to improving urban air quality or enhancing elite sport performance - always focused on creating real-world impact.

You will be based in Santiago and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, machine learning specialists, designers, and product managers from around the world.

Your qualifications and skills

  • University degree with a strong academic record; Master’s in computer science, applied statistics, mathematics, artificial intelligence, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience applying machine learning and data mining techniques to large, real-world datasets
  • Strong background in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, or similar
  • Ability to lead and drive model development independently, balancing quality and deadlines
  • Proven track record in prototyping and applying advanced analytical and statistical methods
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one additional language (e.g., R, Scala, SQL)
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL) and large datasets
  • Experience in the real world application of machine learning methods and algorithms
  • Ability to communicate ideas most effectively - both verbally and in writing - in English and Spanish
