About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Manager to deliver projects within a student CRM (Salesforce) platform implementation Program. The role is an excellent opportunity to play a lead in a key Program in Macquarie University’s digital transformation. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, Governance.

Digital Transformation is one of the six fundamental commitments of the Macquarie University Operating Plan: to embrace emerging technologies to better connect, engage, and collaborate. The core focus of the University’s digital transformation strategy is enabling the objectives of Students First through five key focus areas, seeking to drive excellent experiences and outcomes in every dimension of students’ interactions with the University.

The Student 360 Program will deliver a student CRM (Salesforce) platform that will realise our ambitions for end-to-end student engagement and service delivery, and allow the University to:

  • Provide a unified, 360-degree view of each student that will enhance our ability to engage with them (including privacy protections and controls)
  • Support the transformation of business processes, providing identification of opportunities for improved services to students and support service delivery
  • Enable context-specific services and personalisation to successfully support students throughout their journey
  • Provide a contemporary technology platform that can evolve with the changing needs and aspirations of the University and to truly connect with our students as individuals;
  • Gain insights and analytics across the whole student journey, to provide better metrics and inform improvements of University services and experience
  • Replace and decommission legacy systems

You will provide support to deliver a priority Program within the Macquarie University digital transformation strategy. The Senior Test Manager role will be focused on overseeing the planning, design, execution, and reporting of all testing activities to ensure that the software developed by the program meets quality standards and is free from errors or defects.

Please note that this is a fixed term contract ending 31 December 2026 based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde.

About You

You will be a self-starting individual with excellent work organisation, time management skills and, ability to work under pressure. You will be an effective leader, communicator, and problem solver. Your specific experience will include leading complex, large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes in a University or similar environment. You will enjoy working in a dynamic environment, applying a methodical and consultative approach in your work, and be motivated to deliver work outputs that are of a consistently high quality.

How to Apply

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Test Manager on complex programs of work.
  • Previous experience testing a CRM platform implementation, specifically Salesforce.
  • Define and implement the overall test approach including the development of thorough multi project test strategies.
  • Responsible for producing the overall test delivery plan and defining the testing activities whilst determining whether automation tools can be utilised.
  • Preparation of quality assessments, reports, and metrics formulating go-no go statements based on reports and metrics, test progress and defect status.
  • Ensure that all test cases have appropriate and agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Lead a team of test analysts with the execution of planned test cases, ensuring that all test results are correctly recorded against the system.
  • Supervising testers and overseeing testing procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all required test data and test environments are ready for the testing activities.
  • Track and communicate with key stakeholders on testing progress.
  • Work with stakeholders, including external vendors, to manage the planning and execution of the testing activities.
  • Ensure alignment of testing activities across the integrated project/program plans.
  • Proactively identify test-related risks and issues to project and program delivery and provide general guidance for mitigation activities.
  • This position will require pre-employment checks such as criminal record check and working rights check in Australia.
