The EDD Workforce Services Branch (WSB) is seeking candidates to apply for a Staff Services Analyst (SSA) /Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) position in the Branch Operations Unit (BOU) within the Central Office Workforce Services. The BOU is the Central Office liaison with the Business Operations Planning and Support Division (BOPSD) and provides operational and safety support to the Workforce Services Branch Central Office and Field Divisions – Northern, Southern, and LA Coastal.
The BOU is seeking a dedicated, creative, and motivated professional to assist with answering technical questions and responding punctually to requests received daily from the BOU Outlook inboxes. The analyst will work under the direction of a Staff Services Manager I (SSM).
The analyst will be responsible for maintaining the BOU inboxes and assisting our WSB staff, internal and external stakeholders, and our customers. The analyst performs a variety of complex staff assignments daily within these inboxes that require intricate attention to detail, effective communication, and punctuality.
Requests to be reviewed and processed include, but are not limited to, premises space action agreement requests, office moves, relocations, or closures, Central Office facilities requests, staff concur travel, vehicle requests, processing change requests forms, validating training programs within America's Job Centers of California (AJCCs), and WSB inventory control. The analyst is expected to maintain several databases, including the AJCC database, facilities equipment inventory, and Frequency Operating Button (FOB) library within SharePoint and Teams.
The analyst will be cross-trained within each inbox to learn the procedures and confirm that proper documents, forms, and information are provided to complete the request accurately. Additionally, the analyst will be assigned and assist with various special assignment updates maintained by the BOU routinely, and as needed.

The Workforce Services Branch (WSB) administers the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Wagner-Peyser (W-P) programs which prepare adults, youth, and dislocated workers for participation in the workforce and brings employers with job openings together with qualified job seekers. The WSB is comprised of three Field Divisions which directly deliver services to the public across California: Los Angeles/Coastal Division, Northern Division, and Southern Division. The WSB’s Central Office Workforce Services Division supports EDD staff in the field and provides program guidance to WIOA-funded partners located throughout California. The Deputy Director’s office oversees the Branch personnel program, risk management program, statewide workforce initiatives and participates in the development of policy and funding strategies in support of the workforce system.

The position is located at 722 Capitol Mall in the heart of downtown Sacramento within walking distance to light rail, farmer's market during the summer months, the Golden 1 Center, the California State Capitol, historical Old Sacramento and an eclectic collection of retailers, restaurants, food trucks and entertainment venues. Electric bike and scooter rentals are readily available. Currently, the EDD provides a 100% discount to select commuter methods with pick-up/drop-off locations close to the office.
