Description
Spartronics, a leading defense contract manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support the implementation and oversight of our industrial security program. This role ensures strict compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) standards, and company policies related to handling classified materials and safeguarding national security interests.

Location: Spartronics; 750 E 1600 N; North Logan, UT 84341
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Facility Security Officer in administering all aspects of the facility’s security program in accordance with NISPOM and government contract requirements.
- Maintain personnel security clearance processes, including initiation, tracking, and management of investigations and reinvestigations via DISS, NBIS/e-App.
- Coordinate visit authorizations, badge management, classified access requests, and visitor escorts within secure manufacturing areas.
- Conduct and document initial, annual, and refresher security training for employees, including topics such as safeguarding, insider threat awareness, and counterintelligence.
- Support investigations and reporting of security violations, incidents, and suspicious activities in compliance with DCSA requirements.
- Perform regular self-inspections and assist with DCSA audits and assessments.
- Manage security documentation, classified material handling logs, and records retention for accuracy and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, IT, and HR departments on facility security issues such as access control, physical security enhancements, and insider threat mitigation.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Security Plans related to cleared defense manufacturing operations.
- Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and government representatives to coordinate security clearances and flow-down of DD254 requirements.
Requirements
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active Secret (or higher) Security Clearance required
- 2–5 years of experience supporting industrial security programs under NISPOM or similar
- Working knowledge of DISS/NBIS, e-App, NISS, and NISPOM
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
Preferred:
- Completion of FSO/AFSO training (e.g., CDSE FSO Orientation for Possessing Facilities)
- Experience supporting DCSA audits in a cleared manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of ITAR, COMSEC, and physical security standards
- Familiarity with classified document control and secure storage practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred
- Certifications desired- CDSE’s FSO Orientation for Possessing Facilities certification; SPeD (Security Professional Education Development; or ISP (Industrial Security Professional) highly desired

Compensation
This is a salaried position. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, education, years of relevant experience, and specific expertise in the electronics manufacturing industry.
All applicants must be a U.S. Citizen due to the future need for a US "Secret Security" Clearance.
